Neohesperidin DC is a substance obtained from bitter orange and has unique properties such as masking undesirable flavors, enhance fruit and citrus flavors and especially a high sweetness power that can reach 2500 times the sweetness of sugar, which allows partial reductions in sugar in drinks and foods in general. This molecule is approved by FEMA (Flavor and Extract Manufacturers Association), thus being considered as an aroma. As it goes through a small modification process, is classified as an aroma identical to natural, thus enabling a “cleaner” label and healthier products.
