Tendoforte® is a bioactive collagen peptide with studies that prove its effectiveness for the health of tendons and ligaments. The strength of tendons and ligaments depends on an intact collagen composition, proteoglycans and elastic fibers of the extracellular matrix. Tendoforte® are Bioactive Collagen Peptides, optimized to stimulate the biosynthesis of new extracellular matrix molecules for healthier tendons and ligaments. A first in vitro study observed that fibroblasts, obtained from human ligaments and Achilles tendons, were able to produce significantly more tissue matrix (1,2 a 2,4 times) when exposed directly to the Bioactive Collagen Peptides found in Tendoforte®. In one of the first clinical trials to look at a nutritional intervention in connective tissue weakness, oral intake of Tendoforte® Bioactive Collagen Peptides demonstrated an improvement in the extension property of the finger joints, due to firmer ligaments. A study by the Australian Institute of Sport (AIS) examined the benefits of supplementing with Tendoforte® over a period 6 months. For a period of 3 months, 12 of the 20 participants were able to return to running after starting therapy with daily intake of 5 g of Tendoforte® in combination with a highly specialized exercise program.
